Engine Degreaser (ED-G)

Description

Engine Degreaser (ED-G) is a heavy-duty, water-based alkaline degreaser that strips baked-on engine oil, grease and grime. It dissolves oil into a water-soluble mixture, so it rinses off completely with plain water and leaves no oily film.

What sets it apart is a built-in corrosion inhibitor. Although it is strongly alkaline (pH 13.5), when correctly diluted it is safe on aluminium, alloy rims and other sensitive surfaces, which most degreasers of this strength cannot offer. Use it undiluted on heavy grease, and dilute from 1:4 up to 1:20 for rims, aluminium and delicate finishes.

It is a genuinely multipurpose degreaser for the workshop and car wash, suitable for engine bays, rims, motor chains, floors, machinery and general degreasing. It is intended for automotive workshops, car wash and detailing operators, and experienced car owners who require professional-strength cleaning.

Note: This product is strongly alkaline. Do not apply it undiluted to aluminium, do not allow it to dry on the surface, and always rinse thoroughly. Wear gloves and eye protection, as the corrosion inhibitor protects metal, not skin.

How to Use

1. Select the dilution according to how heavy the grease is and how delicate the surface is (see Dilution Rate). Use undiluted only on tough, non-sensitive surfaces.
2. As it is used on many different surfaces, always test a small, concealed area first, and proceed only once no adverse effect is confirmed.
3. Spray or brush onto the greasy surface.
4. Leave it on the surface for about 30 seconds to 1 minute to break down the oil and grease. Do not allow it to dry.
5. Agitate heavy build-up with a brush.
6. Rinse thoroughly with water.

Safety & Compatibility

Engine Degreaser (ED-G) is strongly alkaline (pH 13.5). Always wear gloves and eye protection; the corrosion inhibitor protects metal, not skin. Apply only to a cool surface, never to a hot engine or in direct sunlight, and allow the surface to cool first. Do not apply it undiluted to aluminium; dilute it (1:4 to 1:20) for aluminium, rims and sensitive surfaces, and rinse promptly before it dries. Store out of reach of children.
