Pro Wax Silicone (PR-X)

Specifications

SKU: PR-X

Description

Pro Wax Silicone is GE's premium, long-lasting tyre and trim dressing, made with high-quality imported silicone wax. On tyres, it applies with a wet-look, high-gloss finish. On a vehicle in regular use, that wet look settles over a few days into a rich, natural black shine, comparable to a fresh factory tyre, and lasts around 7 days to weeks depending on use. On a showroom or display vehicle that remains parked, there is no driving to wear it down, so the full wet-look, high-gloss finish holds for a year or more, until dust gradually dulls it. In both cases the finish resists rain and water rinsing; the only factor that removes it prematurely is washing the tyre with soap, which strips the dressing.

On exterior black plastic and rubber, such as mudguards, black bumpers and trim, it performs differently. The silicone penetrates the surface to restore faded, whitened plastic to a deep, natural dark finish, rather than sitting on top as a wet, glossy coat. It also helps protect rubber and plastic against browning and cracking. Use it on exterior surfaces only: it is too oily for interior use, and for the engine bay, Spray Wax is easier to apply evenly.

Pro Wax Silicone is the premium tier of GE's tyre care range. For an affordable everyday shine, select Tyre Shine T-50; for a longer-lasting, higher-end finish, select Pro Wax Silicone. The two are alternatives and are not layered together.

It is suitable for detailing professionals, workshops, car wash operators and car owners seeking a durable, showroom-quality finish.

Frequently Asked Questions for Pro Wax Silicone (PR-X)

What is Pro Wax Silicone used for?
Pro Wax Silicone is GE's premium tyre and trim dressing, made with high-quality imported silicone wax. On tyres it produces a wet-look, high-gloss finish that settles into a rich, natural black shine and lasts around 7 days to weeks, depending on how the vehicle is used. On exterior black plastic and rubber, such as mudguards, black bumpers and trim, the silicone penetrates the surface to restore faded, whitened parts to a deep, dark finish, and helps protect against browning and cracking. It is for exterior use only, not interior.
Yes, this is the intended behaviour. Pro Wax Silicone applies with a wet-look, high-gloss finish, and over the first few days it settles into a rich, natural black shine, comparable to a fresh factory tyre, before slowly fading. The silicone absorbs into the rubber, so the tyre retains a clean, dark appearance well after the initial gloss eases off. Overall it lasts around 7 days to weeks, depending on how the vehicle is used.
Considerably longer than on a daily driver. The wet-look shine settles and fades mainly through driving, so on a vehicle that remains parked there is nothing to wear it down. The full wet-look, high-gloss finish can hold for a year or more, which makes it well suited to showroom and display vehicles. It will eventually dull as dust settles on the surface, but it retains that fresh, glossy appearance far longer than on a vehicle in regular use.
Yes. It resists rain and plain water rinsing for its full life. The only factor that removes it prematurely is washing the tyre with soap or shampoo, which strips the dressing. To maintain the finish, rinse the tyre with water only between applications.
